Description

Rich Amber Ale, an American variation of an English Pale Ale. Features Willamette hops for flavor and aroma. The combination of the darker Crystal malts with Willamette hops provides for a flavor that is distinctly different than our American Pale Ale.

  • Estimated Original Gravity:1.051-54
  • SRM (Color Range): 9
  • IBU's: 48-52
  • Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 5%

Drinkable
Drinkable, but perhaps one of the more plain Ambers. A good beer for those friends of yours who are afraid of too much hops, too much this and too much that. Very middle of the road.

Lacking
As you can see by the grain bill, there isn't much to this. In fact I added a half pound of special B and that didn't do much to help this kit. I find the beer bland and missing a lot. However it does have a nice color, probably due to the special B that I added. Next time I won't be so hasty to purchase and not examine the grain bill.
