Amarillo® | Pellet Hops

    Description

Amarillo® hops enjoy a special place of adoration in the hearts of brewers. Often described as a supercharged version of Cascade. Bursting with floral, tropical, and citrus (lemon, orange and grapefruit) characteristics, but it has a distinctive Orange character to it that is very different from Cascade. An excellent choice of super hoppy beer styles like Hazy IPA or West Coast IPA, Pale Ales, or Hoppy Lagers. But really, it's an excellent addition to any beer where you want citrus flavors to pop.

        Fantastic Dry Hop

I've fallen in love with these Amarillo hops. I've been adding them as dry hop additions the the American Pale Ale II and Columbus IPA kits. 1/2 to 1 oz works great for me. I found that Amarillo plus Centennial in the Columbus IPA is a great combo. When dry hopping the very first thing you notice when drinking the beer is the initial aroma before taking a sip. Amarillo gives off this dreamy floral/fruity scent that begins your euphoric journey in the beer glass. I also notice it really "juices" up the citrus flavor. It also pairs nicely with the Blood Orange Candi Syrup. Just huge orange flavor and aroma. Your taste buds will thank you for choosing Amarillo hops.

Nice Hops, good citrus smell and flavor

These hops are great if you want a citrus smell and flavor for your beer. The are mostly orange which is a nice change to the lemon and grapefruit of other citrus hops.

        Great bittering hop

I use these primarily as a bittering hop in my clone recipes. Occasionally as an aroma addition because its described as flowery, spicy and citrus-like with a distinct orange bouquet.

One of the best hops around!

What's not to like about Amarillo? The orange/tangerine character is unique and a great compliment to other citrusy hops. I like to let Amarillo take the lead or even use it exclusively. Whenever I see a beer that features Amarillo, I'm definitely picking it up!

        Great HOPS

No issue with these hops - always fresh. I like to substitute in place of cascade and centennial when they aren't available for my west coast IPAs.
