If you're a fan of Amber Ales, then you need to try this Alaskan Amber clone kit!  The recipe is one of true Amber fashion, using three different crystal malts as the only malts (other than the base malt).  Saaz and Cascade hops help to contribute some hop flavor and aroma, but are really just there to compliment the rich malt flavors, allowing them to be the focus of the beer.

A classic example of an American Amber, and certainly one of our easiest drinking kits makes the Eskimo Amber Ale a must brew!

I have made this kit 6 times. Sometimes I add other ingredients to modify it. This is my favorite recipe.

Nice Amber
The kit was perfect. I hit all my brewing goals. It is a little on the sweet side for my taste. I compared it side by side with the Alaska Amber and they were very close. Overall I would brew it again maybe trying a different yeast.

This is very close to the original beer made in Alaska. I love it.

Was wondering why it was so cheap, thought I would try it, but it has turned into a big hit. I'm rarely a recipe repeat person with so many styles to try, but this is definitely a repeat, thanks guys ??

Great as a base
I saw another review mentioning using Eskimo as a base so I tried it.

Amazing, my best so far, and all I did was add some Citra hops 10 days before bottling.

Ordering again.

Great base for modification
This kit is amazing.

I read sweet deal? review saying he modified it, so I gave it a try and I love it.

I made a double batch, 2 kits, so ten gallons. 6 gallons in one fermenter and 4 in a smaller fermenter.

To the 6 gallon I added 2 oz of Citra Pellet Hops for the last week of ferment (dry hop).

To the four gallon I left it plain.

Both ales are fantastic, lots and lots of enthusiastic complements. Making more soon!

Eskimo Amber
Best beer I ever made and first all-grain success. A friend of mine had a big party coming up and wanted to honor his father for retiring and his son for graduating high school. He is a fellow veteran and I could not say, "No". I could tell this beer was special right at the sparging process. It was beautiful and brown. Once fermented, it had such a mature grain flavor with coffee notes. I did a secondary fermentation in a carboy so there would be no sediment in the bottles for the party, so every bottle was great right down to the last drop. High recommend the all grain version.

sweet deal
I used this recipe as a base for an amber ipa pumped up with columbus, citra, and mandarina.

It's no one's malt but your own if you don't give this kit a try.
It didn't fail to produce a satisfyingly malt-forward, sweetish amber with a nice lil' pop of Saaz using Safale US-05.
