I use this for starters and for raising the gravity if my wort is a little low.

Everytime I brew
Makes a light starter wort. I use these to build starters. I have predetermined what gravity this amount gives me in a given amount of water. These are much more convenient than having to weigh out certain amounts. Instead, I use a standard amount (0.5 or 1.0#) of DME and measure out the water to give me close to what the started calculator calls for.

Good for starters
I would say go with a larger bag unless you only want to make a single starter. I have to store it in another bag after opening to make sure moisture doesn't get in.
