Will a stopper fit in the opening? If so what size would that be?

Upgrade your brew bucket for pressure transfers.
Craftsmanship is A+.
I got this for my SS Brew Bucket (which I love) to do pressure transfers. In that this thing kills. MUCH stouter construction that the original flat lid. Absolutely no problem doing low pressure CO2 transfers with this lid and the 3” TC cap with relief valve. Pressure transfers are a bit sketchy with the flat lid if you are not extremely careful. I also like the 3” TC Port for dry hopping better than pulling the whole lid.
For pressure transfers with a brew bucket this thing is great. Only complaint that I have, if it really is one, is that the gasket is annoyingly more difficult to install than the original flat lid for some reason.
That being said, I have gotten away from pressure transfers in the brew bucket since purchasing this and am favoring the flat lid again (only because of the gasket thing). Nothing to do with this unit, just to save CO2. I learned a way to do O2 free transfers without using CO2. Not to be frugal, I am just lazy and for me it is a major pita to get my tanks filled. Rather save for carbonation and serving. ??

Great for dry hopping!
Better than the small opening lid that comes with the fermenter.

Almost!
My 7gal Chronical came with a 1.5" inch TC opening lid that was poorly polished (inside) and wouldn't work with the 3" (only option) blow-off cane.
This replacement lid came with a slightly better polish, but the machining scratches are sill visibly there from 3' away. Think brushed stainless rather then mirror. It's almost like the factory got the memo wrong and polished the outside (flawless) instead of the inside where the fermentation happens.
Add to the cost of the lid a 3" TC Clamp and gasket, it doesn't come with them. All-in-all the lid is poor value due to the work/tools required to finish the lid and the secondary parts needed to utilize it.
I could return it for another, however I am not convinced the replacement would be any better and in the waiting for the return - I could finish the lid I have.
