Hydrometers are a simple yet effective tool for testing sugar in both must & wine. Simply collect the juice or wine sample in a hydrometer jar and place the hydrometer into it. Depending on how dense the solution is the hydrometer will float either higher or lower giving you a reading on the brix scale where the top of the sample ends.
