Cleaning & Sanitizing

Cleaning & sanitizing is a critical step in all stages of the winemaking process. You should sanitize any tools and equipment that will come into contact with the juice or wine.

Step 1 Cleaning:

Make sure the surface area of your equipment free of any dirt or other solids. We recommend using Powdered Brew Wash or PBW for short. PBW is a non-hazardous, buffered alkaline cleaner that will not corrode soft metals. Just remember Only clean surfaces can be sanitized!

Step 2: Sanitize:

After the surface is clean it can now be sanitized. This is done by preparing the sanitizer and pouring, wiping, or swirling on all the surfaces needing to be sanitized. It’s important to follow the manufacturers recommended contact time and dilutions rates of the sanitizer you’re using
