Fantastic price but its so heavy. I am not using it, rather I am still using my light plastic beer stirring tool to punch down the grapes. It is just easier and less surface area to cling onto sanitizer and easier to clean. However, when the grapes are first thawed the heavy tool will be useful.

I just received it but haven't used it. Can say that it is very sturdily constructed and looks like it will work amazing.

Excellent quality. Well made and easy to clean. Used mainly for smaller batches of whole grape must in a 15.9 gallon fermenter. Definitely recommend!

the size is perfect for punching down the grapes in my first stage 7.5 gallon fermenter.. it is very sturdy.

Arrived bent. Never complained about it but I’m pretty bothered, just don’t think it’s worth the hassle. Did all the punch downs this harvest with zero complaints.

This thing looks like an oversized potato masher from high school. But it does wonders on small batches and large patches of winemaking

Great tool for punching down the cap. It's easy to clean if you rinse it off right after using it.

The handle is really easy to hold, made from a slightly spongy material. The welded point is slightly cobby but complete, and it is a great size for a ten gallon fermenter, or smaller I would imagine. You have to be persistent to clean it because bits of grape skin and MOG will get caught in the mesh, but they will wash away with a brush. Anyway, how can you really complain at this price? I recommend it.

Can I crush grapes or other berries with this? Is it strong enough?
It would be strong enough to do so but I wouldn't recommend it. Buy a fruit/grape crusher instead. Use the right tool for the job at hand.
I don't think a standard crush like we do with grapes would be much fun but it would be strong enough just not very efficient.
It is made to punch the grapes to the bottom during primary fermentation i don't think it would work to press grapes. You need more surface area and more pressure to extract all the liquid.
Small (1-2 gallons) batches should be ok for grapes and other soft berries. You would not be successful with larger batches.
That's not what it's designed for but I suppose you could crush grapes with it as long as it was only a small quantity. I can't imagine it being effective for large batches.
