Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME)
MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.

How much strawberry syrup did you add for 5 gallons?
Beth Nicoletto on May 4, 2021
BEST ANSWER: Honestly when I first made this many years ago the strawberry syrup that comes with it, is not enough. I made this many many times and I have found (personal preference) that adding an additional one and even two syrup extracts give it the proper strawberry flavor.
Is priming sugar for bottled beer only or also to kegged beer?
Mark Gebert on Sep 7, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I manly use priming sugary for bottling. I force carb my kegs for about 24 hrs or so at 30 psi and then turn down to about 10 psi. Takes about 2 or 3 days.
what type of dry yeast do you recommend?
mark on Jun 1, 2020
BEST ANSWER: The sfale US-05 yeast or the CellarScience CALI dry yeast are both excellent for this recipe. They keep the aroma nice and clean and free of esters allowing hops and the strawberry flavor to come through clearly.

Better without the strawberry flavouring
I added strawberry flavouring to only half of the batch after bottling the first half. Without the flavouring this is the most popular and requested brew i've done!

Intro to brewing kit
Just finished brewing this. Needed something simple to introduce craft brewing to a friend. This was just the ticket for me.

OK
Did this one based on reviews and having enjoyed strawberry blonde brews in the past. When I brewed the beer and was ready to put the strawberry in I opened the bottle and took a smell. Quite honestly it wasn't a strawberry smell and I considered not putting it in the brew, but I did. The beer after 6 weeks is drinkable, but I wish I would have not put the strawberry in. I think it would be a better drinking beer without it. Based on other reviews I am not sure if there was an issue with the syrup as this has more of a medicine flavor from your childhood and not a mild strawberry flavor. Thankfully it is mild so it remains a beer I can drink. Lesson learned to not add a flavor to a beer if it doesn't pass the smell test. I know I have many more kits to try from MoreBeer but will stick to the plain blonde ale going forward if looking for this type of beer.

Decent summer beer
Very subtle strawberry flavor. I might have wanted it a little stronger, but I understand not wanting to overwhelm the flavor profile. All in all, it will make a decent summer beer. Last summer, I made a wheat ale kit and added a gallon of fresh picked blackberries straight to primary. It had a similar level of fruit flavor as this strawberry kit, so this is comparable to that method.

Great hot weather beer!
Very easy to drink in the hotter temps. Strawberry is there, but not over-powering. Was a quick brew day

Malty add extra corn sugar for a large head.
Great product, but I forgot to pull it off the heat when Ai poured the syrup in, so it is a little darker than it should be. Great summertime ale, paired with kabobs with beef tips, red, green and yellow peppers and yellow onion.

Great Flavor Combination
I was very skeptical about this beer, but decided to go for it. Let me tell you I'm glad I did. The beer came out smooth. Malty round nose, with a very slight strawberry finish. I've got this on tap in my co working space and everyone loves it.

Perfect summer beer. Will make again.
