Description

This false bottom fits great inside a 10 gallon mash tun, like our Rubbermaid coolers.

 
Due to it's domed shape, this particular false bottom can handle a heavy load of grain. It provides enough strength and space to allow your wort to run through without any channeling of the grain bed. It works flawlessly sparging even sticky mashes!
 
This false bottom can be used in converted Sanke kegs as well.
 
Made from stainless steel with 3/32” perforated holes on 5/32” centers. 3/8" barb for tubing connection.

I have the old version of this false bottom with a brass nut and barb. Do you carry just the SS nut and barb for this false bottom so I can switch my brass fittings for SS?

BEST ANSWER: We do carry the stainless nut for your to replace your brass nut. The part number you are looking for is H624 for the nut and H616E for the 1/2" thread elbow with 3/8" barb.

Some people, when upgrading, will go with a 1/2" barb, H618, and connect it through the false bottom with a street elbow, HRD004. The larger fitting will be necessary if you are working with a pump.
says it has a 3/8" barb for tubing. so this means use a 3/8 tubing or thatch the length of the barb. I am trying to get the right tubing and connector for the other end?

BEST ANSWER: Hi Aaron - The barb will be compatible with 3/8" ID tubing.

Used once so far will have to adjust mill gap seemed to let alot of small bits into the kettle even with .5 of rice hulls. It is also VERY SHARP around the outside edge sliced my finger pretty good removing the shipping wrapper.

Works well in a converted keg. I had to add a small piece of tubing to get it to draw liquid all the way down to the bottom.

Works great
When in use in my mash tun I was a little concerned about the gap between the outlet and the bottom of the mash tun and tried putting a short length of silicone tube but this ended up not working and I had to remove it. I was concerned about the amount of fluid left behind below the false bottom, but this turned out to be negligible.

So much better than bazooka screen
I replaced my bazooka screen with this and could not be happier. when I vorlauf, my wort becomes much clearer and it happens much faster.
