This device does exactly what it says it will do. If you are fly sparging or just recirculating your mash you no longer have to monitor levels or rates from one vessel to the next. Once you set the float level it will add just enough liquid in a throttling fashion. It is very nice.

I have two of these now and they work great. One issue is adjusting the level if necessary once the (very) hot liquid is flowing as it will pour onto your fingers. You need to select & set the desired/envisioned level as best possible to start with particularly with small (5 gal or less) batches to facilitate effective/efficient wort recirculation or sparging. Secondly, I personally think it would be a benefit to have more teeth on the adjustment gears in order to provide a greater range of float setting heights. Otherwise, great concept and I'll continue to use them. Cheers!

The auto- sparge works as described. I wish you could order it with the specific length sparge arm that you needed. Better yet, have adjustment for the length (ie clap on extendable float arm). The arm it came with was too long for my FF 5 gal batch mash tun cooler. Secondly, it would be nice to have something to support the auto sparge in the wall of the cooler. There is a fair amount of movement at the point of attachment. The FF cooler has a thin inner wall. This may lead to failure of the wall of the mash tun with time.

Great product, but should have come with an one additional longer sparge arm, an additional float for the tubing, and approximately 24 inches of additional tubing. I had to order all of the above in order to get it to work properly on my 14 gallon mash tun.

It works but it leaks around the plunger so it doesn't shut off the flow and causes my sparge to go quicker than I'd like.

I bought one of these and found myself going back to my homemade sparge manifold. The design and idea of the unit is great as is everything with Blichmann, but I think you can save yourself some money and go buy some cpvc pipe drill some holes in it and use a valve on your HLT to control the flow.

Took me a few trys to dial it in my system but is easy to adjust on the fly there after. Solid construction and is all stainless steel now.

Why take all the time trying to set a pair of ball valves to flow just right ? With this you can set it and forget it. Makes my brew day a whole lot more pleasant !

Best and easiest sparging solution available.

This is as expected a great product. Installed it in my cooler mash tun.

I have used the auto sparge twice now, and it works great. Allows me to keep the lid closed on the Mashtun to keep heat in and focus on the run off! Would recommend.

I was hesitant to go with the somewhat atypical Blichmann offering over a standard sparge arm setup, but I can say that I am quite pleased with it's ability to self-regulate the flow of hot liquor and can confirm that it won't punch holes in the grain bed. If you do happen to pick this up for your setup, I'd recommend mounting it toward the very top of your mash/lauter tun (assuming that is what you are using) to help ensure your ability to handle larger grain bills without clogging up the mechanism. All in all, a very good buy.
