Unhappy with the draintube lid adapter fit.
While the concept of a compact K-RIMS system is fantastic, the engineering or quality control fell short. While assembling the system together it became appearant that the lid between the two pots had not been checked to see if the drain tube would clear the port when assembled with the upper valve of the 7.5 gallon G2 pot. The drain tube does not clear the holes in the lid, making the tube unusable. The hole in the lid is too high, so when the tube is screwed in it doesn't form a good seal. E-mail sent to Blichmann remains unanswered as to this flaw. I am completely happy with More Beer but seriously disappointed with Blichmann at the moment.

Great, compact all-grain system
I bought this adapter kit a while back for my 10G Blichmann boilermaker. I got the 7.5G one too. Generally all I can say is I'm really happy with this. I was doing BIAB for a while and getting pretty good results, but working with the bag (e.g. making sure I didn't burn it, draining the wort at the end, and then cleaning it) was definitely more time consuming and difficult. The Brew Easy setup allows for a little larger grain bill than my BIAB setup since half of the water is in the boil kettle (though top off water is always an option).

My first time using the system was a little slow as there are a lot of valves working together. Since I don't use any type of temperature automation my biggest issue is hitting my target mash temp. I don't think this is exclusive to this system, but it appears to be best to kill the heat a few degrees out from your target and then possibly stir the mash some to even out the heat distribution.

The whole system held the temp for longer than I expected (in warmer weather at least) without me having my burner on. I used a combination of recirculation with heat, with no heat, or not recirculation at all. I imagine with some more practice I'll get better and more comfortable with the process. Probably the autosparge has been the most difficult to use thus far. To be fair I've done some big beers and potentially was at or past Blichmanns recommended grain limit.

Last thing to note, and Blichmann says this, is you need to get a pH meter and adjust your water since you will have a thin mash. I went with a Milwaukee product which wasn't cheap and then you also end up spending extra money to get the calibration and storage fluids.

Overall, I'm happy with this product and have liked the innovation. I have roommates and move every few years so each brew days requires me to setup and teardown everything and storage space can be tight. I already have a bunch of brew equipment in the basement so adding another 10G pot or so is really helpful for my situation. It's a compact way to do all-grain with less gear. As everybody knows Blichmann products are pricier than others, but I do think their quality is really good. Over the years they have always been responsive to my emails including sending some replacement parts when I've had issues.
